JOB SUMMARIES AT HORNBLOWER IN NEW YORK

Ticket Agent
Responsibilities include: Accept payment and make changes for ticket transactions. Issue receipts, refunds or change due to guests; sell tickets from box office as a designated cashier;  count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shift. Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins; keep a daily balance sheet of payments received and tickets sold; open and close the box office properly and arrange signage on the pier; assist and manage guests in the queuing and boarding process to all of our vessels 
in the boarding areas; assist in the collection of admission tickets from guests; present a clean, well-organized indoor area of the box office; perform other duties as assigned. Ideal candidates will be available to work day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Senior Deckhand – Maritime
Inspired by our commitment to excellence and create amazing experiences for our guests.  The successful Senior Deckhand is responsible to maintain the appearance of the vessel which includes directing daily activities of the crew, cleaning, some custodial work, and assisting with docking and undocking; will uphold the strictest safety standards for guests and crew; and will maintain a professional and friendly manner consistent with Our Service System. Server
We are seeking talented, service minded individuals who are committed to absolute guest satisfaction in a fast paced, high energy, fun environment. Servers are responsible for ensuring total guest satisfaction regarding food quality and service while maintaining health code standards. Candidates must be professional, dependable, enthusiastic and friendly. Minimum 6 months experience with a catering or restaurant background. Must be familiar with P.O.S. system. Sales Manager

Special Operations Project Coordinator
We need an enthusiastic Project Administrator to join our New York Projects team. This position requires excellent organizational, project management and interpersonal skills to assist with administering special marine operations projects, including capital expenditure projects. Ideal candidates will be available to work day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Mechanic
Hornblower New York is in need of a Marine Mechanic to service its New York fleet. Position specific responsibilities: perform routine maintenance and inspections; diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repair work; maintain logs and follow up reports; perform tasks independently with limited direction. Maintenance Worker
The Maintenance position covers a varied range of responsibilities.  This person does general cleaning and repairing or other types of basic maintenance of our vessels. You may be required to climb ladders, move in confined spaces and lift up to 50lbs without concession. Ideal candidates will be available to work day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Expeditor
Hornblower Cruises & Events is looking for enthusiastic, service minded individuals who are committed to absolute guest satisfaction to join our team! The Food Runner is responsible for expediting all food orders from the kitchen to the guests in a timely manner. This includes setting up and carrying trays, organizing plates and the expo station, explaining food items to the guest, assisting the Food Server and completing side work while maintaining health code standards. Food Runners must also ensure all surfaces are clean and presentable. First Officer – Maritime
We seek First Officers to join our Hornblower New York team!  The First Officer position requires two years of boating experience, good people skills and a flexible schedule. Requirements for the First Officer position include: Maritime experience aboard small passenger vessels preferred.  TWIC and MMD Required.  First Aid & CPR certified preferred.  Two years customer service experience in the Hospitality Industry. Bartender
We are seeking experienced Bartenders to join our team. The successful candidates will be energetic and professional with excellent communication and customer service skills. Must be self-motivated, friendly and a team player with an ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment. Broad knowledge of cocktail preparation and ability to mix complex drinks consistently is required and Bartender/Mixology certification is preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Presents a clean, well-organized bar; Be prepared for “rush” time upon boarding; Break down the bar after cruise: re-par the bar, wash glassware, lock up alcohol, return juices and garnish to cooler, clean all bar surfaces, stack mats, sweep and mop floor and re-par all beverage storage areas. Provide first class, friendly customer service. Serve alcohol legally and responsibly; run cash register/P.O.S. Cruise Director / Host / Hostess
Hornblower New York is seeking a Cruise Director/Host/Hostess. This role is responsible for guiding the guest experience on public cruises and to work with Front of the House & Guest Services team. This position reports to the Event Manager and is responsible to ensure our guest experience is positive and our guests are totally satisfied upon entry and for every aspect of their cruise. This role is responsible for table-touching. Ideal candidates must be available to work day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Event Manager
We are currently seeking an Event Manager to supervise the Food & Beverage operations on the Hornblower Boats. As an Event Manager, you will work closely with the Culinary Crew, Food & Beverage Director and Service Crew to ensure the guest’s experience exceeds their expectations. The Event Manger will supervise, and train Hornblower service crew. You will be responsible for communicating pertinent information to the staff concerning cruises and events, pre-cruise and post-cruise tasks. Other job responsibilities include but not limited to: assign and direct staff in their work duties; move throughout vessels to visually monitor and take corrective action to ensure food quality and service standards are met; regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer satisfaction of the passengers; solve guest disputes. Ideal candidates will be available to work day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Dishwasher
Dishwashers will be responsible for washing and cleaning tableware, pots, and cooking equipment.  Must be able to keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized.  Other duties as assigned.  Qualified candidates will have prior experience in catering/restaurant/hospitalty field.  Must be able to handle a high pressure environment and perform moderate lifting. Hornblower Cruises and Events, the premier event planning and yacht charter company, is seeking talented Cooks/Prep Cooks to work on our vessels on the New York Harbor! Qualified candidates should have some previous experience which includes prep work, line cooking and knowledge of health sanitation codes. You will work primarily banquets with a wide range of menus. Successful candidates show attention to detail in a fast paced environment. We all work as team, so you must be open to assisting in breaking down and cleaning the galley at the end of each shift. Hornblower New York seeks full time and part time Boat Captain’s for our New York location. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of recent captain experience. 100 Ton licensed positions available. Requirements: 100 Ton Master’s license; TWIC; first aid & CPR certification required; basic computer skills preferred. TWIC Card is required for this position. Ideal candidates will be available to work day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Corporate Sales Manager
The Sales Manager is responsible for selling vessel charters and private events with focus on local corporate markets and non-traditional events. Position specific responsibilities: organize and participate in sales missions; conduct outbound focus sales calls (domestic and international); develop new relationships; attend trade shows (domestic and international) and networking functions; interact with potential clients and maintain relationships with current clients; respond and follow up on inquiries, online and/or by phone; develop, update and maintain a client database; develop collateral materials with the marketing department; follow through on charters/events from start to finish, attend/supervise events; create weekly and monthly sales activity reports; create annual sales budget and goals with general manager/director of sales; perform other duties, as assigned. This position requires an extensive length of experience, a minimum of 3-5 years.

Expeditor – Bus Person
The Bus Person is responsible for setting tables, clearing tables and restocking plates for servers.  They will assist the servers and or bartenders with all their needs, deliver high quality customer service and complete side work while maintaining health code standards.  Duties include but are not limited to: fully stock all necessary stations with inventory; presents a clean, well-organized floor; organize plates and utensils on table and in the kitchen; assist wait staff when necessary; bussers must completely reset all dirty tables within a timely manner of the Guest departure. Ideal candidates will be available to work day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Concession Associate
The Concession Associate is responsible for assisting the Vessel Concession Manager on their vessel. They will assist the Concession Vessel Manager and Concession Associates with tasks to maintain their vessel in order to generate sales that will maximize revenue. The Concession Associates assist in the daily set up, ensuring that the Concession space is clean, presentable and fully stocked. Responsibilities include: completing tasks delegated by Concession Vessel Manager such as stocking/re-stocking and cleaning; assist with the set up and closing of the vessel concession each business day; assist in maintaining a sanitary environment and equipment each business day; adhere to all company policies such as uniform and cell phone policies; interact as needed with fellow Statue Cruises crew at all points of embarkation and responsibility for communication questions, concerns or problems to Concession Vessel Manager and/or supervisors. Must exhibit superior customer service skills. Ideal candidates will be available to work day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
