Adweek Women in Media - Hornblower New York

Last Wednesday Adweek held it’s Women in Media event aboard the Hornblower Infinity. It was a fitting location to celebrate the best of the best women in media and some big names were there, from TV personality Wendy Williams to news anchors and hosts including Kate Snow, anchor for NBC Nightly News Sunday, Harris Faulkner, co-host of Fox News ‘Outnumbered’, plus many more who work at the highest levels of the industry.

Over 500 media luminaries boarded the Hornblower infinity, decked out in style for a lavish event fitting of the occasion.

Once aboard many headed straight for the mouthwatering freshly shucked oysters, accompanied by cocktails specifically designed for the event. The vibe was electric, no doubt helped by knowing you’re on board a luxury yacht in the most famous harbor in the world.

After an introduction from Kate Snow, there was more time for some networking, food and drinks, before an intimate a cappella/acoustic performance from Bebe Rexha (you can see some video below)… to say it was a special performance would be an understatement. The entire Infinity silent to hear her amazing voice.

Then it was time to get the party started as Nina Sky turned up the tunes for some dancing, and the Hornblower Infinity set sail for some of the best views NYC has to offer including the Manhattan Skyline and Lady Liberty.

If the looks on the faces of those who attended is any indication, it was a great night.

The Adweek’s special Women’s issue and event puts the spotlight the women in the media making waves not just within the media landscape but also influencing the nation’s opinion-makers and public alike.

There is no shortage of amazing women within the media industry even though the appearance can often be one of an industry dominated by men. Many work behind the scenes and are less well-known to the public. Some of the big hitters Adweek deemed worthy of the spotlight, and indeed they were, include Michelle Lee, Editor in Chief at Allure, Katrina Craigwell, (Global Director, Marketing Innovation GE Digital), Wendy Clark (CEO North America DDB Worldwide), Nancy Dubuc (President & CEO A=E Networks), Joanna Coles (Editor in Chief, Cosmopolitan), Nadja Bellan-White (Senior Partner & Managing Director, Ogilvy & Mather), plus many, many more.

Hornblower would like to thank Adweek for putting on such a great event and celebrating women in media.
